Course objectives:
|
The aim of this course is to develop students? theoretical and practical knowledge of vocabulary and lexicological system of Russian langauge in the context of Czech language. It introduces the word as a langauge unit. It familiarizes students with lexical semantics, polysemy (metaphor, mentonymy, synecdoche), homonymy, antonymy, synonymy, and onomstics. It teaches vocabulary development and enrichment with the focus on contemporary development. It differentiate the vocabulary from the historical, social and stylictic point of view.

Requirements on student
|
Active class participation. Students have to pass two tests ? lexicological analysis of the text, and make a project (work up a semantic field of free choice).

Content
|
Students should gain the theoretical and practical knowledge of vocabulary and lexicological system of Russian language in the context of Czech language.
1.Lexicology and related scientific disciplines.
2.The problematic of lexicography. Structure of a dictionary entry and types of dictionaries.
3.A word as a language unit. Lexical and grammar meaning.
4.Onomastics ? nomination, motivation.
5.Lexical semantics ? monosemy and polysemy.
6.Metaphor, metonymy, synecdoche.
7.Homonymy and similar phenomena. Russian-Czech omonymy.
8.Antonymy.
9.Synonymy. Types of synonyms.
10.Vocabulary development and enrichment with the focus on contemporary development.
11.Vocabulary differentiation ? historical point of view
12.Vocabulary differentiation - social point of view
13.Vocabulary differentiation - stylistic point of view.
